On 20 May 2005 a great happening has been organized for the opening of the new dry fractionation plant of Unimills. Also, during this event the new Unimills logo was revealed with the new “vital to food” concept.

Several dignitaries were attending this event like the Prime Minister of Malaysia Data’ Seri Abdullah Haji Amad Badawi, the Major of Zwijndrecht, Mr. A.S. Scholten and the board of directors of the Golden Hope Group lead by Mr. Tn. Hj. Sabri bin Ahmad and Megat Dziauddin bin Megat Mahmud.

 Unimills got the honor that the Prime Minister of Malaysia officially opened the new dry fractionation plant at Unimills by signing a specially designed ceremony board. Dry fractionation is a process to obtain high melting fats without the formation of trans fats and without the use of chemical solvents. These fractions can be used in margarine, baked goods and other applications.

This event was lead by the Regional Director of Golden Hope, Mr. Jan van Driel. Mr. Van Driel was acting as a host for all dignitaries. He explained how the fractionation factory operates and showed the guests several applications which can be made of the fat the factory will produce.
